SummaryRed Collar Pet Foods is looking for a Director Sales to join our exciting new pet treat business in our offices located in Joplin, Missouri. Who is Red Collar? It is our commitment to quality ingredients and manufacturing exclusively in the U.S. which makes us all proud of our company and the pets we ultimately feed.Purpose of RoleThe Director Sales of the Red Collar Pet Foods Demand account team focused on developing talent, delivering annual sales targets, strategic planning and customer engagement. The product portfolio is across the Treat segment. Key responsibilities include: line manager for delivering the P&L budget, developing and executing strategies with internal and customer teams, building relationships, planning and forecasting, managing projects and being an expert in the Co-Manufacturing Treat arena. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and leans heavily on cross functional team engagement with Marketing, Finance, R&D, Supply Operations, Demand Planning, CPFR/Replenishment and Customer Care. Insights, Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Collaboration are the foundation in which we operate to deliver the companys and retailer partner objectives.Principal Accountabilities Ensure the delivery of overall Sales and scorecard measures for Red Collar Pet Foods for assigned accounts. Accountable for overall resource and budgetary management, to ensure profitable business growth via the achievement of specific Gross Sales and Net Sales, market share, brand, pack and distribution targets. Accountable for talent management as well as talent development of team ensuring resources are aligned in a manner that leverages both Red Collar Pet and customer strategies. Manage the collaborative relationship with segmented accounts that delivers customer satisfaction, and fosters an environment to achieve Red Collar Pet business plans and growth objectives. Develop and manage store format strategies, aligning the sales team as well as cross-functional resources/leaders to support execution and deployment of critical tactics and action plans. Provide critical customer input into Red Collar Pet around the development of go-to-market (i.e. new item launches, trade deployment, pack creation, etc.) plans and activity sets. Help develop forecast, and provide input on new product concepts, initiatives, and brand plans. Provide leadership in the area of collaborative planning, developing new approaches and processes that ensure better customer planning, input, and alignment as well as development of improved activity sets. Provide sales functional team leadership and provide voice of customer into the creation/execution of overall functional strategies/enablers, key initiatives, etc. Position must help represent the future and emerging needs of assigned customers, so Red Collar Pet is in a better position to compete within our business segments. Provide direction and best practice leadership to Red Collar Pet within our customer markets. As a member of the Sales and Development Team, providing an overall strategic and tactical direction for the sales function. Responsible for managing entire Co-Manufacturing Treat sales process including insights, innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with customers as well as managing projects through the activity gate process. The item portfolio is across the Treat segment. Key Functional Skills/Knowledge Working knowledge of Company financials, accounting procedure, trade financials, personnel policies and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in benchmarking of CPG trends and initiatives. Demonstrated understanding and management of large, complex business customers/channels. In depth knowledge and experience of account management and the ability to penetrate accounts Basic understanding of agency operations and workings. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a consumer products sales and/or marketing organization with at least two of those years in a team leader position.
