The Therapy Svcs Technician reports to the Director of Rehab
Services and Manager/ Coordinator of Therapy Services, as well as
other licensed staff. The Therapy Tech assists in upkeep of
department appearance and equipment and provides any support help
needed for improved department functioning to include but not
limited to assisting with patient care, set-up for therapy sessions
and assisting with clerical duties. Performs related duties as
assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner
consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service
- Experience: Less than one year.
- Required Education: High School Diploma / GED
- Certifications: BLS Basic Life Support Within 3 Months Of
- Other: Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational
skills. Ability to work under supervision with minimal direction
Knowledge of various types of office equipment including a
computer, telephone, fax, printer and copy machine. Additional
skills and knowledge: must be able to push 40 lbs, pull 60 lbs,
grip 50 lbs and pinch 15 lbs.
- Preferred Education: Secondary.
- Preferred Experience: One to two years. Previous successful
Physical Therapy delivery.

Plans, maintains and controls inventory of materials, lines,
supplies and equipment in order to meet department/ facility needs.
Maintains a clean work area, cleans equipment and machines upon
completion of work activity, or as necessary. Reports equipment
malfunctions for correction and/or initiates repairs. Appropriately
documents clinic maintenance procedures. Maintains treatment areas
and supply areas in an orderly condition and informs management of

include but not limited to setting up treatment media, assisting
the patient with transfers and/ or self care activities. Acts as a
second assist to therapists during therapeutic procedures.
Assists the therapist in observing the patient and reporting any

telephone calls, reception of outpatients, photocopying, filing and
distribution of documents. Serves as preceptor to assist in
education of other Therapy Technicians.
Productivity: Supports and implements budgetary practices in the
planning, organization and efficient execution of work activities.
Meets established departmental productivity standards, conserves
resources and recognizes the value of cost containment while
maintaining quality standards. Compliance: Reports on/off duty
according to scheduled shift.
Notifies supervisor immediately regarding emergencies or other
situations which require unscheduled time off.
Attends meetings/in-services and completes assigned education as
required by department, hospital and/ or Ministry wide policy.
Customer Service: Reflects Mercy Values and consistently
utilizes Mercy Service techniques in establishing and maintaining a
positive relationship with all internal and external customers as
demonstrated by communication that is effective, friendly, helpful
and appropriate in manner.
Teamwork: Demonstrates a willingness to adjust work schedule to
meet the needs of the department.
Professional Development: Resolves problems relating to work
assignments, departmental functions, and departmental services in a
