Location: Joplin, MO, 94804Department: PackagingRed Collar Pet Foods is looking for production training associate to join our exciting pet food business at our Joplin, MO facility. Who is Red Collar? Purpose of Role The Production Training Associate will be responsible for training temporary agency staff, newly hired and promoted associates as well as cross training and re-training needs. Principal Accountabilities The Production Training Associate role is responsible for understanding safe and efficient operation of all production equipment, processes, procedures and policies. Areas included are below: Ensure GMP's, Site Policies, and Global Policies are adhered to at all time and train staff on adherence Provide a Quality first production environment, and ensure the highest quality of product through the process Ensure all process reports and evaluations of training are completed correctly, legibly and in a timely manner Monitor all activities of associates in training, immediately reporting downtimes to Supervisor, Maintenance or Quality Assurance when downtime cannot be corrected by the operator Facilitate good communication and planning with other lead/supervisors to transition new associates into their full time role and shift Giving and receiving constructive feedback, dealing with ambiguity, Creativity, Self-development, Conflict Management and Priority Setting are critical for this role Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management Key Functional Skills/Knowledge Basic computer skills for developing, presenting and updating training materials Superior written and oral communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Mathematical skills to include add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement Ability to lift, move, push and pull at least 50 pounds; ability to lift or carry items on a consistent basis Ability to stand for long periods of time Twisting, bending, climbing and ability to tolerate heights Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items Vision requirements of close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in any form Problem solving abilities and ability to prioritize tasks Working knowledge of the order process within the established metrics Demonstrated knowledge of all safety programs Be a team player and drive a positive team atmosphere Wearing required personal protective equipment as well as training and ensuring associates wear their required PPE accurately Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals Assist in development of performance based training program and provide feedback on associates within the training program process Evaluate training effectiveness Teach, coach and assist with skills matrix to include Minimum Qualifications: Be 18 years of age or older Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures Ability to read and understand the daily production run schedule, and execute to that plan Ability to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety or other business critical information vital to operations and customer service Able to work with minimal supervision Successful completion of a substance screening and background check Must be able to obtain forklift and LOTO certification and be a trainer for both 4+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and email Knowledge of inventory control principles and how the manufacturing process effect inventory Experience with JD Edwards Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual Red Collar Pet Foods is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
