Orthopedic Surgery Locums Opportunity - Joplin, MissouriQuick Facts for Candidate ScreeningAvailability Needed

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Coverage Needed: 2 weekends per month
• Flexible scheduling based on provider availability

Weekend Call Schedule

• Friday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM
• Beginning August 1
• Any 2 weekends per month

License & Certification RequirementsRequired License

• Active Missouri medical license OR
• IMLC eligible/accepted

Board Status

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Orthopedic Surgery

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• ABLS
• ATLS
• BLS
• PALS

Trauma Experience RequirementsAcceptable Candidates

• Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship-trained physiciansOR
• Orthopedic Surgeons with Level II Trauma experience

Trauma Center

• Level II Trauma Center

Call DetailsCall Type

• In-House Call Only

Response Time

• 30-minute response requirement

Call Frequency

• Approximately 2 weekends per month

Responsibilities

• Trauma call coverage
• Admissions required
• Assigned patient rounding

Practice DetailsSpecialty

• Orthopedic Surgery / Orthopedic Trauma

Clinical Volume

• Approximately 40,000 adult emergency department visits annually
• General orthopedic and trauma cases
• Approximately 8 hours of patient-facing time per day

Operating Room

• Dedicated daily OR block available beginning at 7:00 AM
• No designated trauma OR

EMR

• Epic

Ideal Candidate

• BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon
• Active Missouri license or IMLC pathway available
• Current ACLS, ABLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Comfortable managing Level II trauma cases
• Available for ongoing weekend in-house call coverage
