Develops services to improve the overall health status of communities ministered to in a cost-effective, high quality manner. Provides liaison with the medical staff and departments and promotes Employer Joplin and Fort Smith compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensures Employer Values are reflected in all aspects of operations.Serves in a leadership capacity with Senior management in facilitating the understanding and application of the Employer mission and values into organizational decision, practices, and activities. Participates in senior management decision making to promote Employer mission and values as an integral part of the organization s culture, strategic planning, policies, programs and practices.Collaborates to integrate the Employer Mission, values and charism in substantive and measurable ways with:a) Clinicians and caregivers to shape how patients experience caregiving in the delivery of health care.b) Department leaders and human resources to shape how co-workers experience the work life through the assisting, hiring, training, engaging, and evaluating co-workers;c) Community leaders and organizations in furthering the organization's partnering role in community health activities.d) Business strategies to evaluate the incitation and sustain off collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers.Provides formation in meaningful and measurable ways and in a variety of formats to board members, executives, leaders, integrated and aligned physicians, and co-workers in all Employer sites of care to help them identify their work as ministry and integrate the Employer mission, values and charism into their decisions and day-to-day work.Understands and facilitates the application of the Catholic moral tradition and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care services to clinical issues and to operational issues of management, finance, human resources and networking.Understands and facilitates the application of Catholic Social Tradition to foster right relationships throughout the organization and the community and to promote special care for people who are poor and underserved.Provides leadership and oversight to global ministry efforts through engaging local leadership, clinicians, and community members in partnership relationships with Employer health ministries outside of the United States.Creates and oversees the activities of mission teams and mission extenders (formation, charity functions, heritage celebrations, and religious rituals) in the hospital(s), outpatient settings and physician offices.Partners to provide cultural assessments and strategies for cultural integration for potential or existing physician practices and for healthcare entities that are managed, leased or acquired by Employer.Coordinates the effective implementation of pastoral care services and support s efforts to develop quality measures and addressing the spiritual needs of those served by Employer in all venues of care.Works collaboratively to assure the effective implementation of palliative care services across the continuum of care.Assists in the development of methodologies to assess community needs and in the determination of the community benefits provided by the organization to address those needs.Interviews and assesses candidates for leadership positions for their Employer Fit; provides or facilitates the inclusion of formation for individual leader personal development plans with measurable outcomes.Facilitates efforts to develop substantive spirituality in the workplace practices based on Employer's heritage, mission, values and charism.Articulates the relationship of Employer to the broader Catholic Church, fosters a collegial relationship with the Diocesan Bishop and with other clergy and diocesan leaders as needed, and understand and applies needed aspects of Canon Law to appropriate issues.Maintains strong relations with the local Sisters of Employer, and assures thorough and ongoing communication between the Sisters and the health ministry leadership.Participates in facilitating Employer's Advocacy efforts by promoting the development and articulation of Employer's position and by facilitating lobbying initiatives on the part of leadership and staff on particular legislative issues which address the needs of people who are poor and underserved.Conducts and facilitates meaningful celebrations that focus on mission and values as an essential part of the organization s life and culture.Communicates consistently with and is regularly visible to employees in promoting the mission and values throughout the organization and in functioning as an employee liaison with administration.Initiates, generates, and promotes contact with other Catholic Healthcare providers within and outside Employer for networking and collaborating in mission and ethics endeavors.Provides operational oversight to other operational areas within the organization as needed and within the competency of the individual vice presidency of mission, and takes call with other senior leaders on a rotating basis.1.
