The Chief Information Officer is the lead position for Information Technology at Missouri Southern State University. The CIO is responsible for all functions related to IT, including ERP systems, network availability and the provision and management of educational technologies. The CIO manages all budget and personnel duties for IT. Reporting to senior administration, the CIO represents IT to all campus entities as well as external concerns including vendors, groups and industry-related consortiums. - Specific Duties and Responsibilities Provide strategic and tactical planning, implementation and development for the IT department. Maintain responsibility for all IT products, systems and staff. Lead, manage, and evaluate to all IT staff, including evaluations, correction and disciplinary measures. Develop effective communication channels with MSSU administration, faculty and staff. Provide vision and guidance to lead IT in developing and implementing daily, yearly, and long-term IT goals and projects that support the University's mission and strategic plan. Serves as the Chief Information Security Officer & Data Protection Officer for campus. Research, evaluate, develop and implement IT policies that provide direction and protection for the campus. Manage purchasing and vendor relations and negotiations. Develop, manage and approve budgets and purchasing. Possess strong technology industry knowledge; maintain current knowledge of IT trends and topics. Education, Experience, and Licenses A Bachelor degree is required. Master's degree and/or information management-related certifications preferred. Valid Driver's License and the ability to meet insurance requirements for driving university provided vehicles.   • define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • be accountable for inventory/property management.
  • manage large and separate budgets and accounting systems
  • possess and communicate strong knowledge and deep understanding of information technology frameworks and methodologies.
  • supervise employees developing, installing, or repairing technology systems.
