Job DescriptionThe ability to operate independently: Achieve superior results while working with focused direction & support.· Strategic foresight: An ability to foresee upcoming market dynamics and work with General Managers & VP of Sales in developing a sales plan to maximize results for a specific area.· An analytical mind: Possess the ability to analyze and adjust strategies as is required in today's volatile market.Job Description· Success is determined through achievement of revenue goals and improvement in our market share performance as compared to that of our defined competitors.· Develop and implement sales plans that will maintain and increase RevPAR in each hotel.· Participate in sales strategy meetings with General Managers· Work closely with revenue management team to ensure that sales and revenue management strategies are aligned to produce additional revenue, increase market share, and maximize profit.· Work closely with operations team to ensure that sales strategy is being implemented at the property level.· Complete and implement monthly/quarterly action plans that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Accountable, Realistic, Timely)· Use creativity with proposals, contracts, and site inspections· Show a sense of urgency to steal business from competitors· Utilize, teach and implement "5 Step" selling process on all sales calls.· Be aware of new businesses coming into the markets; monitor this through reading local newspapers, business journal, trade publications, internet resources, and driving your local markets.· Utilize specific brand tools to maximize sales efforts· Actively participate in generating ideas/revenue for "Segment" specific teams as assigned.Property Sales & Communication:· Build relationships with VPO's, General Managers, and staff at the properties within your territory.· Be familiar with competitor hotels and selling strategies. Recognize what opportunities exist to steal business from competitors. Be aware of issues that make competitors' accounts vulnerable (Rates, Service, Product)· Partner with M& R team members – refer leads and deliver proposals/contracts and make a personal call when needed.· Accurately communicate details on accounts to the operating departments as needed. Understand the hotel's operations, including room types, meeting capacities, services, features and benefits for assigned hotels in your territory.· Review monthly STAR reports and create action plans as assigned.Corporate Support:· Participate, as requested, in the planning and implementation of corporate sales policies and programs, concentrated sales efforts, trade shows, corporate meetings, and any other event or activity deemed to be in line with the overall goals of M&R Hotels. Utilize corporate resources to achieve team objectives (e.g., marketing, operations, etc.).· Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by Management.· Weekly review of hotels performance with VP of SalesRequirements – Education and Experience:· Professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills including Internet browsing· Demonstrated leadership in contracting and negotiating· Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing· Exceptional with details and follow up· Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings· Conduct weekly calls· Monitor each hotels progress towards achieving their budget and growing their RevPAR Index· Monthly review of Negotiated account production· Assist with the preparation of the business plan and revenue budget· Develop internet marketing campaigns, GDS advertising· Utilize and be proficient with Amadeus Sales & Events, Amadues Reporting, ProfitSage, and key marketing reports of multiple brands· Prior Hilton and Marriott experience a plus· This position is based in Joplin· College degree is preferred
